The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events.  These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, participants are deemed to have complied with these rules.  NO EXPRESSES OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATION OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/ OR REGULATIONS.  They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator, or official.  The race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements.  NO EXPRESSES OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OR SPECIFICATIONS.  Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion  of the officials.  Image's, photo's, or video's  taken from/ at Seymour Speedway may not be used or sold for commercial gain without written permission from Seymour Speedway.  Anyone found publishing said images, photos, or videos without written permission will be in breach of copyright laws.

Text Box: 2010 General Track Rules
General
1.      Rules and regulations if not covered herein will be interpreted by the officials and track management and will be final.  The management will make any changes or additions to the rules when deemed necessary for the benefit of all concerned. 
2.      Continuous development in racing may necessitate changes that could not be anticipated at the time of publishing rules.   Alternate rules may be necessary to update, modify, add, or delete. 
3.      No deviation from normal rules shall be made unless all owners, drivers, and officials are notified of changes.  
4.      Decisions of the officials and scorers will be final.  Public address announcements are not official.  Official results will come from the scorers. 
5.      Track officials reserve the right to refuse entrance to any kart, driver, owner, or any other person to the pit area, infield, or grandstands. 
6.      There will be no driving of karts in pits.  Karts will be pushed to staging lane.  Karts may be driven from track to scale area and then pushed from scales back to pit. No motorcycles or ATV's allowed in pit area except track vehicles. 
7.      Seymour Speedway is not responsible for damages to any vehicles brought onto Speedway property. 
Conduct
1.      Professional, courteous conduct is expected from all participants at all times.  Anyone acting in an unsportsmanlike manner will be put on probation or suspended according to the seriousness of the offense.  Owners and drivers will be responsible for the conduct and actions of their pit crew or any other persons signed in under their kart number. 
2.      Refusal of any owner, driver, or crew member to abide by the set rules and the usual policy of conducting kart races will be grounds for the management or technical committee to refuse to let such person or kart to take part in race program and/or institute penalties as they see fit.  Trouble makers will not be tolerated and may be barred from all speedway events. 
3.      Any fighting in the pits will be subject to suspension from speedway events. 
4.      No drinking of alcoholic beverages before or during the racing program.
Driver Eligibility
1.      Our racing events are open to all persons complying with these rules and specifications and their admission into the racing area signifies their acceptance of and compliance with provisions. 
2.      All drivers may be required to pass a performance based driving test.  This will be at the discretion of the General Manager. 
3.      All drivers must be registered with the track. 
4.  Drivers must be of class required age before they race that class.
Kart/Mower Registration
      1.       If your kart # is already registered with another driver, you will be asked to add a letter to your number or    change your # for scoring purposes. 
2.      Kart / Number registration is free to all participants in 2010. 
3.      Numbers may be registered with Seymour Speedway anytime after January 1st, but before kart competes in first event.  
Pit Pass
1.      A pit pass is a fee charged to enter into the restricted area of the facility.  It must be worn at all times and displayed in plain view of track officials. 
2.      No owner, driver, or pit crew may enter facility until he/she has registered and signed all entry forms and releases. 
3.      Pit passes cost: $10.00 for each and every person entering pit area. 
4.      Minor’s release - Anyone under the age of 18 years of age must have a release signed by his/her parent or legal guardian before entering the Speedway property. 
5.      Medical insurance is the sole responsibility of the racer and/or parent and/or legal guardian. 
Points
1.      Points will only be awarded to registered driver. 
2.      Any driver/kart found illegal will forfeit points for that race. 
3.      In the event of a tie in the year end points, tie will be broken with most Feature wins, then on to most 2nd place, etc... 
4.      Kart must make it onto track to receive points for heat or feature races. If kart can not complete race, it will be scored with last place points. If multiple karts do not complete race, points will be awarded as they fall out of race. Ex. first to fall out = last place points, 2nd to fall out = next to last points, etc..
5.      Stand in driver may be used, but no more than (1) time in a season. 
Inspection and Protest Procedures
1.      Track officials reserve the right to inspect any kart or parts to determine legality. 
2.      Tech official reserves the right to perform tech inspection on any given number of karts after a race.  
3.      Tech official will have the final say in kart legality. 
4.      A formal protest will be accepted by a registered owner or driver only if their kart is in a race with the kart being protested.  
5.      Protest must be made at scale area before Feature Race is started.  Protestor and Protested kart numbers and protest fee are required at this time. 
6.       Protest fee is $50.00. $10.00 will go to tech official.  If protested kart is found illegal, $40.00 will be returned to protestor.  If protested kart is found legal, $40.00 will go to that kart owner.  
7.      First offense of being found illegal or refusing technical inspection will result in loses of points and finishing position for that event.  Second offense of being found illegal or refusing technical inspection will result in suspension for one race; lose of points and finishing position for that event.  Third offense of being found illegal or refusing technical inspection will result in lose of all accumulated points and suspension for the remainder of the season. 
Line ups and Racing Procedures
1.      First heat race lineup will be determined by draw.  Second heat race will be inverted starting order of first heat race..  If a driver misses the draw, that driver will start on rear of field for both heat races. 
2.      Feature race line up is set by adding the finishing order of heat races together, lowest # is on pole position. In the event of a tie in heat races finishes, the original draw will be used as tie breaker.
3.      Once karts have been staged, any empty spots will be filled by rearranging the field in correct running order.
4.      The inside pole sitter sets the pace for the start or restart of a race.    
5.      If a spin out or collision causes a yellow flag before the 1st lap is completed, karts will return to original lineup for restart. 
6.      If a spin out or collision causes a yellow flag after the 1st lap is completed, karts will line up in their current running order, but in single file. 
7.      Any kart involved in causing a yellow or red flag will be moved to rear of the field for restart of race.   
8.      If track conditions warrant a yellow or red flag, scorers will immediately stop scoring.  The race will restart with the running order from the lap before. 
9.      If the leader takes the white flag and a caution is warranted, field will be reset in single file with karts causing caution moved to rear of field.  The field will then restart with green white flag displayed.
10.     If the leader takes the checkered flag and an accident happens, karts will be scored as they cross the finish line.
11.     In the case of a tie at the finish line, the inside kart will be awarded the win. 
Flags and Lights
The following flag and light colors are used throughout an event.
1.      Green - Beginning of the race, track is safe and clear. 
2.      Yellow - Reduce speeds and maintain positions.  DO NOT RACE UNDER A YELLOW FLAG CONDITION! 
3.      Red - Emergency on track.  All karts are to come to a safe stop immediately. 
4.      Blue w/ Yellow Stripe - Indicates you are being lapped by faster karts.  Move to lower lane.
4.      Black - (Rolled up) - warning to driver.  (Stretched out)- pull off track immediately to infield area.
5.      White - Last lap, one lap left to race. 
6.      Black & White Checkered - Race is complete.
